Montserrat video

Have you ever heard perfect notes sung in a cathedral, with acoustics enhanced by those tremendous domed ceilings? People travel quite some distance to hear the Escolania (Boy's Choir) perform for just a few moments each day at Montserrat.  Many of these boys live here at the on-site school... while they are not traveling to sing. So it was a real delight to witness their performance on two consecutive nights. Here is a short video of what we heard on a typical Thursday night:

We left Montserrat early the next morning for our excursion north. Our destination was Andorra. This is a location that I immediately circled repeatedly and tapped on our virtual map. Have you ever heard of the nation called Andorra? Well, I had not, so that meant that we needed to go there. It is a tiny country, sandwiched between Spain and France, entirely surrounded by the great Pyrenees Mountains.

Andorra is only 181 square miles, and most of that is mountain. There are only 84 thousand people living in this tiny European Country. And I was surprised to read that they have the 2nd highest human life expectancy. It's probably all that good mountain air, clean water, and natural beauty! Tourism has kept them quite prosperous. What do tourists do in Andorra? In the winter they SKI! And year round they SHOP! Shopping here is tax free - duty free, so there is plenty of shopping in the towns that blanket what space exists within a few narrow valleys.

Gondola enters the hotelGondola enters the hotelIt was a wonderful drive finding this little nation. And we had arranged a hotel that was attached to the Gondola that takes skiers up to the mountains for some fun in the snow. Tomorrow I'll offer you a small movie that I made of you and I skiing in Andorra!

Thank you for taking us to this cathedral and listening to the choir.   It was beautiful to hear them sing.   Your postings and videos make me smile for hours!

Re: Montserrat video

Hauntingly beautiful

St. Isidore the Farmer

I would love pictures of St. Isidore the Farmer.  He is known as the patron of Madrid, Spain as well as Leon, Saragosa and Seville.  He is a friend of mine.  Love ya much,... it looks beautiful and awe-inspiring.

For St. Isidore, please light a candle and  pour some water

Re: St. Isidore the Farmer

I'll keep an eye out for the picture, and lighting a candle as soon as I hit Spanish land again.  Currently I'm a few days ahead of you virtual travelers (over the water en-route to Casablanca).  Love to you all... and believe me, I've traveled seemingly alone. And I've traveled with you here on blendingtogether.  There is no other way for me now.  Glad to have your requests and input!!!!!
