Honoring Bryn

Fri 4 December, 2009

If you are reading this, it's quite probable that you belong to the species called Homo sapiens. We come in various sizes, shapes, and colors, but human all are we! Have you ever really considered how vast the Animal Kingdom actually is, of which we are a part? There are gazillions of species. From the tiny little insects, to creatures like the elephant and whale. Swimmers, slinkers, flyers, and runners, the list goes on and on. And even if they don't all make complete sense to us... like the mosquito... I'm certain that they each have a very special reason for Being.

• Most are wild
• Some are considered livestock and raised for food
• A few are revered as Sacred
• And then there are the ones we call domestic. We take them into our homes and call them family and friend.

BrynBryn

Bryn remains one of the best friends that I have ever had. Most of us can gratefully call to mind one, or many, such companions. Un-conditional Love and unwavering devotion is what they typically offer - not to mention the oft needed comic relief.

Puppy TransportPuppy TransportIn many countries here on Earth these special family members do not have access to the same level of care that is available for many of our pets. It remains enough of a struggle to see to the needs of the people. Generally, if there are veterinarians, they are exclusively trained to deal with livestock issues. But the human - pet bond is quite universal none-the-less. Thankfully, there are now some nonprofit organizations that are aware of the need for simple medical services for these pets, and free-of-cost veterinary care is becoming more accessible.

So in honor of Bryn, and all the other furry, feathered, and scaly critters out there, blendingtogether will be traveling in July 2010 to the country of Nicaragua to volunteer at a World Vet sponsored spay and neuter clinic. NicaraguaNicaragua Yes, for a change of pace, and to broaden our perspective on Charitable Service, we will don the surgical mask and assume the professional label of "Vet". Plus I'm super excited to be able to share another exotic location with all of you.

But in the meantime let's not forget our next adventure, which is scheduled to commence in just a few weeks, on January 7th. Atlantis, our excursion to six countries and "beyond" is sure to bring many surprises.

Until then, I wish you all a wonderful holiday season.
