You've Got Mail

On any given ordinary day, there is the time when you usually make the trip to collect your mail. Maybe someone slipped it through a slot in your door, or could it be that you walk to a box that leans a bit from its years of service? Is it you that makes the familiar march in your work clothes after a long days labor? Maybe you have kids to send, or a dog that retrieves without slobbering? Now that's a real bonus! Today, among all of the circular ads you never asked for, and those bills you'll eventually get to, you find something personal. It is hand written and addressed to you...

Special Delivery

It looks like an invitation! The envelope is square, and of a finely textured beige linen parchment. The stamps are from another country, portraying a photo of someone that must be famous there. Whomever sent it wrote your name without the prefix, as though they know you very well. There is no return address, but when you turn the envelope over the words blendingtogether are on the back flap. Interesting... Do you rip it open straight away, or leave it on the stack, a future project for your letter opener?

You must have opened it, because these words now greet you as you open the note neatly folded in half:  Hello my friend!  We are going to Peru and Bolivia. I haven't given you much warning, but then again you don't need to travel from your home to live the experience. We are leaving on FRIDAY! These trips are usually a bit of a mystery, so you'll have to join me on this adventure to see what we may find, see, taste, and certainly feel. You must know, it wouldn't be the same without you. Are you up for some excitement?
