Egypt(10 November, 2011 - 24 November, 2011)Pyramids! The Nile! The Sphinx, Monuments, and Tombs full of riches! Is this what you think of when you imagine Egypt? For many of us, the idea of a visit to Egypt makes our pulse quicken. How can we not include a visit to a place that defies time itself? It was in celebration to LIFE that the civilization of ancient Egypt created the most fascinating, mind-bending structures on this planet... three to four thousand years ago! And many of them still stand. If you consider that the USA is only hundreds of years old, maybe we have much to learn from an empire that thrived for several millennia. During this journey we will listen carefully for the whispered secrets that the stones, the sand, the waters, or even the very air may impart.Enter Journey

Peru & Bolivia(27 May, 2011 - 20 June, 2011)On our first night in Peru, we encounter Lima, the exciting coastal capital. What follows will be three full weeks of high altitude adventure. Beginning with the Andes Mountains, we visit Cusco and the fabled mountain top remains of Machu Picchu. Then, climbing higher to over 12,000 feet, we'll spend time at Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world, and the largest in South America. Sacred, serene, and deeply traditional... just the idea of visiting Titicaca makes me all tingly inside. Finally, we'll adventure into the west of Bolivia to marvel at the worlds largest salt flat... the Salar de Uyuni. Here we will experience this massive salt desert, including red lakes, giant cacti, flamingos, geysers, and llamas. This is only part of the fascination to be found in the Bolivian Altiplano- all the while at 12,000 ft! I hope you don't experience altitude sickness, because this trip is just bursting with awesomeness. Enter Journey

Malta & Gozo(17 February, 2011 - 27 February, 2011)The oldest surviving freestanding structures in the world are located, not in Egypt, but on the diminutive islands of Malta. With a story that spans 6000 years, these small islands just south of Sicily have been a focal point within the Mediterranean throughout our known time. Amazingly, they manifest a mixture of influences beginning with pre-historic megalithic temple builders, followed by a succession of conquests: the Phoenicians, the Romans for hundreds of years surrounding the birth of Christ, Arab conquest, the Normans, the era of the Knights of St. John, a brief stint with the French, and then 150 years as a British Territory, before gaining its independence in 1964. Today it is 100% Maltese, it is the smallest state in the European Union, and it has layers of history that give it's stunning beauty, and beautiful people, a truly unique depth of character.Enter Journey

Antarctica(7 November, 2010 - 30 November, 2010)The Great White Continent, never claimed by any nation, and devoid of indigenous people or culture. It is the windiest, driest, coldest place on Earth. It holds 70% of the world's fresh water in the form of ice, despite being classified as a desert. The little snow that falls never melts, and it has created ice as thick as 3 miles, overlaying mountain ranges as high as the alps. In its winter the surrounding oceans freeze and she doubles in size... but we'll be visiting in the early summer when the frozen seas will loosen their hold, making way for Penguins, Seals, Whales and Birds to find their favored breeding and feeding grounds. It is the only place on Earth that has remained pristine, with many regions as yet unknown, untouched, uncharted. It has been said that to experience it will change your life forever. It is the trip of a lifetime. It is Antarctica.Enter Journey

Nicaragua(21 July, 2010 - 6 August, 2010)The largest country in Central America is also the second poorest in all of the America's. But the Spirit of Nicaragua is far from impoverished. Within the last century alone she has withstood 42 years of dictatorship, a revolution, a devastating earthquake, and the Contra war. This seasoning has enriched a culture full of pride and fresh independence. What's more, she is bordered by two oceans, contains fabulous lakes, and is peppered with volcanos. The land is fertile and bursting with exotic wildlife. And much like a phoenix just lifting its head, she breathes with a vibrancy that catches our attention. We've been invited to visit; and I'm sure she has much to share.Enter Journey

Atlantis(7 January, 2010 - 1 February, 2010)Atlantis! That word has been a source of mystery and intrigue for a very, very long time. There have been movies, documentaries, TV series, books, and debates. For just one moment, cancel out anything you have been told and let the word sit with you for a moment. Does it evoke any feelings in you? When I do that I see a place, an area, a general location that begs exploration. So much of our lives is spent behind Door Number One. There are other doors, and my feeling is that the door labeled Atlantis stands ajar. This Journey isn't to find answers. This Journey is only to check out the other door. Enter Journey

Norway(12 May, 2009 - 1 June, 2009)So many people had asked me... Why are you going to Norway? I suppose the answer to that was like a half-finished puzzle. The part I knew was that Norway felt like the opposite of Mali, Africa (our last journey). It would be chilly instead of HOT. Norway is a wealthy European country rather than third world. And it is impressively coastal with all of those magnificent fjords, rivers, and waterfalls rather than being land-locked and sub-saharan. We could also experience the twenty-four hour sunshine and the Sami culture. Was there more? Of course... I hope you enjoy the journey!Enter Journey

Mali(12 June, 2008 - 10 July, 2008)This country is located in West Africa just beneath the Sahara desert. Did you know that it is considered one of the poorest nations in the world? Did you know that they do not speak English there? Approximately 90% of Malians are Muslim, but what remains after that is quite interesting. On this adventure we somehow managed to communicate, volunteer, and explore some very unique tribal villages. Our trip to Mali is here awaiting your visit... you may be quite surprised by what we found.

Nepal(2 November, 2005 - 19 November, 2005)They thought I was just a bit crazy. You're going where?!? Nepal. I'm going to trek the Himalayas with a few new friends. In many ways I was just as dumbfounded and perplexed as my family and friends. The trip to Nepal turned out to be that cardinal adventure, the moment when I realized that the world is so very large and that people, regardless of circumstance, are inherently good and kind if you just reach out and say hello. It was also a physical test that far exceeded my expectations...
