From Here to There
Flying to Paris is such a multi-cultural experience. The united nations of airports; a hub to the world. And suddenly here we all were, speaking, dressing, and sometimes delightfully smelling differently... not to forget those differing religious beliefs and skin color... all the while maintaining a common intent:
Move ourselves and our baggage to the right gate, with the correct documents, in the appropriate time frame. We wait in lines, sit in close quarters, and eat from the same basic menu.
It goes on all day and night - all over the world - with hardly a glitch. Look at how we can so effectively blend when the goal, the desire, and the need is the same.
For me, the differences are beautiful; we are all so very unique. It reminds me of snorkling in tropical waters. OOH... look at that pretty one !!! Except in this scene I don't have a snorkle, I'm a fishie too!
Thought: If we can do this so effectively together, it makes me wonder what more we are capable of.
Details: For those that enjoy the details our 1st flight from Philadelphia to Paris was approx. 7 hrs and our second to Bamako, Mali was roughly 6 hrs. the layover in between was 8 hrs. Mali is 4 hrs ahead of EST, USA.
Food: Thank you Alison for reminding me to include a food segment - something we all need and usually take some delight in. I had a cappuchino and chocolate croissant for you at the airport in Paris... $10 !! This is not the ideal airport for the hungry and thrifty.
