White to Green

Mon 1 June, 2009

We are back in Oslo for just one night and I cannot believe how hot it is! I gather they are having a heat wave. It is very green here compared to Svalbard, and overall I must say that Norway is much... MUCH less populated than many nations I have visited. It is lovely to see so many large spaces of pristine nature, whether it be white, green, or somewhere in-between.

I have one more movie clip for you from Svalbard. It reflects how beautiful it is from a boat, and I think you'll like it as a remembrance of our time there. On our final day we  rented a bike and visited the local area that is accessible, the church, the stores, pizza for lunch, and then went swimming! Yes, we went swimming in the Arctic Smile  If you really twist my arm in private I'll tell you how!

Mette and BoMette and BoWe also made some new friends in Svalbard, Mette and Bo from Denmark. I'm sure that you can relate to always meeting someone on a trip that feels like serendipity. They had actually visited Doylestown, PA  at one time, which is only a few miles down the road from my home. I look forward to seeing them again sometime Smile

See you sooner rather than later my friends and family... I'm coming home!

From my heart, Thank you!

Once again, this trip went too fast! I love the walrus, could have stayed there for hours watching him scratch..hehe  I think that you should explore national geographics for your own tv series! That would be fun! Hope we have a safe return!

Re: White to Green

Re: White to Green

What a magical, delightful vacation!! Thank you for SHARING with all of us!! Each day was a new adventure that I looked forward to experiencing with you! I'm sad to see it end...and yet it still exists in our memories and in this wonderful site you've created!

Re: White to Green

Thank you all for coming with me; I really can't imagine any kind of adventure travel without you. The creation of this site is a testament to that feeling.
It feels strange to be writing this from my home, where the internet service is perfectly quick and reliable, and I've gotta go to work like everybody else today Smile I can still feel the sway of the water in Norway from the many times we were upon it, and the cold of the snow in Svalbard.
If you have subscribed to this web site, you'll always receive any updates that are posted (we had quite a large group this time). So lets rest for a bit and then I'll be in contact when it is time for us to select our next destination. If you know anyone that you think might be interested in joining us please have them subscribe... as you can see it's free, and the more we have the more exciting it becomes.
Much Love and Thanks Smile
